Science Could Be the Enemy of Old Gods

I rarely comment on podcasts but this time I have an idea that I would like to share.

I haven’t read the book so I wonder if there will be a new “new god” amongst the American gods – Science.

It absolutely makes sense to me because:

1. Science could be considered as the arch enemy of the old gods. It basically annihilated the myths about the creation of the world and the human race by explaining all those miracles.
2. The majority of the people (I think) actively believe in Science even if they don’t necessarily understand it. I’ve never seen an atom or the planet Saturn with my own eyes but I blindly believe that they exist.

It would be great to hear your thoughts!
