Season 8 Finale

Hello hosts,

Let me start off by saying that it has been amazing to listen to your input this season.

After listening to the instacast and deep dive I re watched the season finale to see if my own opinion of disappointment would change. Unfortunately it didn’t. The first half of the episode had me hooked whereas the second half lost me with the turn of events. As you discussed when Dany was in front of the iron throne and Jon comes In where is her security? All of a sudden she”s all alone without not even one Unsullied soldier? Although I expected her to die this episode it was too convenient. I loved the scene with Drogon and Dany. When Drogon melted the Iron throne that was it and he and Dany flew away. Aside from that my biggest issue was with Jon and Bran.

Let”s start with Jon WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY did they bring him back to life and reveal his true heritage only to be sent back to the wall?! All this build up, theories and assumptions all for nothing. The, arguably, most honorable character isn’t fit to be king? He kills Dany and gets sent to the wall but Jamie who was LORD COMMANDER of the King”s guard kills the mad king and gets shamed for it but still holds his position? Jon should”ve been the one to end up on the iron throne and the fact that he wasn’t it was a waste of time and build up to reveal his heritage. The unsullied sailing east they couldn’t keep Jon on the boat an extra day or two and be like “ok coast is clear”.

Bran shouldn’t be king. As mentioned on the deep dive I completely believe the theory that this could”ve been his plan. Yes he doesn’t “want” or “feels” but he can still move the pieces on the chess board where he sees fit (literally). It was too convenient with his response to Tyrian “Why do you think I came all this way?” Also as you mentioned on the deep dive the previous three eyed raven lived for 1,000+ years, assuming Bran lives this long who could possibly succeed him?

I love the ending with Arya and Sansa that was amazing. The North, which has suffered great lost in different generations, will finally govern themselves and Arya will continue to be Arya.

Thank you guys for doing this podcast, giving us some amazing input and insight on the episodes as well as listening to us.
