Taboo FX Episode 1, “Shovels and Keys”, exploded onto our screens with murder, nightmare, necromancy, prostitution and testicular threats. We knew Tom Hardy would be a beastly, brooding, mysterious James Keziah Delaney, but we didn’t know “Taboo” would be something rare on FX: a murder mystery.

I really appreciate the research you guys are doing for this show, I kinda see these podcasts as “brain food” and understanding the historical context really makes the show more enjoyable. I can give over to a little more of the fictional, hocus-pocus entertainment value elements knowing that the show is smart enough to portray an accurate setting and historical context.
Not to mention I didn’t pay attention in history class due to hormonal interests at the time, so I have a lot of catching up to do!
