Theories About Ford, Drinking and Self-Aware Hosts

Hi! I’m Sam from Palo Alto, California. My brother and I are huge fans of your podcast and discuss it on Facebook chat regularly. You read his theory about the wood cutter a couple episodes back! Keep up the amazing work.

So Tin foil hat time… Ford is a host. Why? Because he doesn’t like to drink alone. You mentioned in this week’s podcast Ford telling the Man in Black, “I never like to drink alone”. It struck me that he brings 3 glasses and gives one to Teddy. I think that Ford is also saying that he wouldn’t want someone else to drink alone. If Ford hadn’t come, MiB would be drinking alone since Teddy isn’t a real person and MiB knows that and knows that he’s not drinking with a person, hence drinking alone. However, we have seen Ford drinking with the old host in cold storage, who is very obviously not a real person. Does Ford not consider drinking with a host rather than a real person, alone? Is this because he himself is a host?

Also, I don’t really have a theory on this, but would love to hear your thoughts on the hosts that are conscious of Westworld i.e. The blonde woman in white who introduces William to Westworld. I’m not certain that she actually explicitly says that she’s a host, and merely says “if you can’t tell, does it make a difference,” so maybe she is just a Delos employee. I also think that lil baby Ford boy host is aware of the existence of the park and thinks that he is a guest. His backstory of being on vacation with his parents presumably from England because of his accent, seems like a weird back story for young boy in the Wild West, but not for a modern boy visiting Westworld with his family.

Keep in mind that I’m writing this while blasting the Westworld theme on repeat, so this whole email is a bit crackpot. Hope that you get to reading this on the next telegraph episode.
