Jon enters the Throne Room and Daenerys is standing there and he confronts her about Tyrion’s fate. She tells him all the stuff about showing mercy is weakness and that it would lead to others feeling free to openly disrespect her and challenge her authority. And then he brings up Sansa and the North. She deflects for a second and again refers back to how they can break the wheel and rid the world of tyrants and evil men. At this point, realizing she is approaching this ledge of madness Jon asks, “How are you any different? You just murdered a whole city, including women and children.” She calmly tells him it had to be done because this is the fate they chose when they walked through those gates and sided with her enemies.
Jon, now realizes Tyrion and Varys were right. He sees it in her eyes that she has crossed the point of no return. He tells her that Sansa and everyone who hears of the burning of King’s Landing will never love her or bend to the knee. She is furious, she goes on to tell him how this is his and Sansa’s fault and makes a point to tell him anyone who opposes her will burn under the weight of their decisions and this is her destiny. Jon then proceeds to turn his back to her and walk away and she says, “Jon, do not do this, stay by my side. I love you, do not make me do this…” (Drogon hearing/sensing the tension lands in the throne room) and Jon draws his sword because now the Unsullied have entered the room and says, “I am not Jon, I am Aegon Targaryen…..” Before he can finish, she lets out the command for Drogon to burn him and Jon is engulfed in flames. After the blast is done, we see Jon on the ground injured (maybe all the Stark clothing is gone) and weakened (only half a dragon) but very much alive. He is still clutching his sword which is blazing hot and glowing. Sidebar — Jon is not the same man who got burnt before since he has been reborn twice now. Once physically/magically by Melisandre and then mentally by acknowledging his true identity as Aegon. Daenerys, realizing she just tried to kill her everything rushes to him and she is despondent and crying and tries to cradle him. She is a fucking mess and it just keeps repeating that she is sorry. Jon opens his eyes then says he is also sorry, gathers the strength to plunge the glowing Lightbringer into her chest and fulfills the prophecy. At which point Drogon senses that she is dead. He wails and maybe burns the Iron Throne and but ultimately accepts Jon as a Targaryen. Jon then collapses as Drogon carries Daenerys away.
