Virtu E Fortuna Thoughts

Westworld Telegraph

Hi guys,

I’m a fan based in London, United Kingdom and I’ve been a big fan of Westworld since episode 1 and of your YouTube videos since I first stumbled across them in the second half of series 1!

I have a few thoughts to share on Virtu e Fortuna – my favourite episode of season 2:

– I loved the start, I think they deliberately cast an actress to play Grace that could be a young Theresa to get us thinking about timelines – ‘is this now?’ Turns out it was, but I loved this misdirection.

– They also re-introduced the initial questions about who is a host and who isn’t that we had when we first came across Teddy in series 1. I had a feeling both Grace and Nicholas were human as they both referenced ‘the park’ in their conversations and spoke about it in a way that only humans have.

– Bernard’s outfit…. up until this episode I was using Bernard’s outfit to help identify the timeline. He wore a black shirt and suit to the narrative launch/retirement of Ford and immediately after. When we saw him washed up on the shore (+10days) he was wearing a white shirt and grey suit. I noted that when Charlotte and Bernard were underground she got changed and he didn’t, it made sense for her to get changed as her evening dress wasn’t great for running around the park. But I don’t see the advantage of Bernard changing from one suit to another? Which makes me think it’s a different Bernard model, but I noted he also appears to have the scar from shooting himself in the head in this episode? I don’t think this show would have a wardrobe continuity oversight like this so it must be significant.

Any thoughts on this?

Keep up the great work guys!
