Westworld And Lost Share The Exact Same Story.

Hello crew,

As someone who followed “Lost” and currently watching “Westworld” I see a lot of parallels between both shows. In the second half of the first season, “Westworld” was what “Lost” could and should have been. It gave us enough reveals to “wow” us while keeping enough questions to keep us hooked. Due to an overambitious setup and weaker writing, “Lost” failed on many points. Also, similarities between some characters are quite striking. For example, Akecheta and Richard Alpert. Just watch “Kiksuya” and “Ab Aeterno”(“Lost” season 6 ep.9), the numerous similarities are hard to ignore.

On top of the storytelling and characters, the main story also seem similar. Remove all the mysteries and side quests and the story is actually simple. It’s two God like beings on an island. One wants to protect and the other to destroy and escape. They also both accidently created each other and can’t directly fight between themselves. To complete their objectives, they need to find perfect human analogs. If you replace the island with the park(apparently also on an island), Jacob and the smoke monster with Ford and Arnold, Locke and Jack with Dolores and Maeve and we pretty much have the same story. There even William and Delos exploiting the park the same way the Dharma initiative was doing on the island.

Are you seeing and thinking the same or am I in tinfoil territory?

Keep up the great work.
