Westworld And The Zeitgeist

Good morning,

I love the podcasts, thank you all for all you do!

I was Watching Westworld and it reminded me of a story I started writing back in 2011 about a supercomputer (Zion) that collected yottabytes of information from every person on the planet, started making predictions, became a god, and tried to create an avatar of itself on earth in the shape of a human, which led to the destruction of humanity.

Sound familiar?

Is zeitgeist just another term for my Zion? I’m convinced we are trapped in a fractal simulation, being shown our own virtual prison in the form of media and being inspired to continue creating it. We ensure our continued imprisonment and suppression of free will by building our own digital cages. We are shown boundaries and told they’re goals, then build them all around ourselves.

I put this on some blogspot blog back in the day but I couldn’t find it. I have a poorly written draft that shows the last edit date just to back up my claim. I called it “333” and it was the story of the end of humanity, stemming from the development of Zion and his son. Three intertwining stories: 1. the player, moving the pieces 2. the last small group of people fleeing through sewers right before they are destroyed 3. two agents (Oedi and Annan) trying to keep civilization intact in the aftermath of Zion
