Westworld – Bernards Memory Indexing

Big fan of your channel so first of all thanks for doing a great job.
Something I noticed when watching Bernard during the finale was how he explained that he intentionally de-addressed his memory. This only happened after he decided to change sides when Elsie was killed; which set the death of Hale in motion and everything leading up to them going to the Forge.
Maybe it’s something the show writers overlooked or I’m misunderstanding the timeline but his memory was already de-addressed in the timeline following the host revolution. See episode 4 of this season roughly 41 minutes in where Elsie explains it.
What are your thoughts on this? Plot hole or intentional by the show runners?

Excellent catch!
His memories were not de-addressed on the night of the gala. He was just injured from the gunshot. However, in the scene where he says goodbye to Ford, where he decides to de-address his memories, he shows that he built the Hale host already, because he’s talking about how he did it on his own. But we see Elsie’s body in the scene where host Hale kills human Hale, so they couldn’t be deaddressed in the secret lab with Elsie, except that is exactly what Elsie says is wrong with his memories even after she confirms that his gunshot issue is fixed. So, plot hole? I think so.
