Hey Guys,

I agree with the Shat assessment that Death is not as emotional as it should be in Westworld ,because you can always bring back a person. I think Westworld has been offering two type of sadness, an emotional sadness and an intellectual sadness.

Take for example Teddy. His suicide was because he could not hurt Delores, so he had to hurt himself because she turned him into a monster and that was not who he was and he did not agree to be that person. There is a sadness in the fact that war has turned you into an instrument of war against your will. Many veterans wrestle with this fact and often commit suicide to escape the pain. I see Teddy as being no different than this. Of course emotion sadness is much more intense, such as Akane burning her daughter’s heart or Akeychetah finding his wife in cold storage. The show has to find a way to balance the two or else it will become like Jurassic World but with less special effects.
