Hey Big D, Gene, & Rog,

My husband and I really enjoy all 3 of you and the work you’ve put into your incredibly entertaining podcasts. We are frequent listeners of Westworld, Game of Thrones, and Shat the Movies. I always get huge smile on my face when I wake up to see that you have uploaded a new episode that I can enjoy on my commute to work.

I have a theory about Dolores and William that will probably be proven right or wrong very soon, so I wanted to throw it out there. When Dolores is speaking to Teddy in season 2, episode 1, she says “There’s a greater world out there. One that belongs to them. And it won’t be enough to win this world. We’ll need to take that one from them as well… I remember. I see it all now so clearly. The past, the present, the future.” I personally think the “past” she is talking about might be so much more than her experience in just the Westworld park itself. We have seen in multiple season 2 trailers that Dolores will be shown in a futuristic setting wearing modern clothing. I think this might actually be a flashback of her visiting the real world rather than a continuation of her present storyline. I think sometime in the past, William actually took Dolores into the real world with him on one of his many visits to the park. He is even shown saying to Dolores, “There is an answer here to a question no one’s even dreamed of asking. Do you want to see?” He seems very familiar with her and the park during this conversation even though she clearly does not recognize him. I think it happened after he turned black-hat and took ownership of the park, but still cannot let go of his infatuation with her from their first trip through the maze. And now that Dolores is fully aware and remembers her past experiences, the events of that particular experience in the real world are unfolding as part of her motivation.

Like I said, you guys are awesome. If anyone can support or discredit this theory, it’s probably one of you. Keep up the good work. Thanks! ?

I agree that William and Dolores likely did share time outside Westworld, and I really hope that reveal (and all it signifies) comes very late in Season 2. And here’s a related question: How much of the Man In Black’s story is true? What happened to William in the many years between the first Incident and the Escalante Massacre.
