Hi Roger, Dick, Gene:

Love the podcast and have been a loyal listener each week starting back with Game of Thrones!

Based on my re-watch of the latest episode (Episode 3), I have a new theory germinating regarding the Ghost Nation warriors.

Basically, I’ve been thinking more and more that the GN warriors are some kind of “internal” host security force meant to actually protect the guests.

In every scene (through S2, E3) we’ve seen the GN warriors interact with real people (i.e., Guests, not Hosts), they don’t actually appear to harm the human guests they come across:

* In season 1, we see Stubbs is really just subdued but seemingly not actually harmed (and we now see him free from the GN folks in Ep1 of this season) * In Ep3, we see Maeve, Hector and Lee come across several GN warriors, but they are not attacking them. Instead, they are asking to take just Lee and letting Maeve & Hector go. Even after Hector shoots at them (and notice how he never actually hits them), the GN warriors just come running at the three of them – i.e., not throwing spears or arrows at them * Also in Ep3, the new woman from Raj world encounters 3 GN warriors when she washes up on shore, but they are really just standing there instead of aggressively coming at her

What if they are acting like some kind of autonomous defense mechanism within the park (under Ford’s control 0- alive or dead) like a humans immune system?

If this were the case, then they would be working to try to get to the guests before the revolting hosts so that the guests can be protected. Based on the fact that we never see them actually attacking anyone (disregarding Maeve’s flashback since she is a host and not a guest), I feel like this could help to explain what the GN warriors are actually intended to do. This is also supported by the fact that even Maeve can’t seem to control them.

Not sure if this theory has legs, but hope to hear it mentioned in the upcoming Telegraph this week (or later if we see more evidence of this)!

Thanks for all of your hard work!

I think all four of your Shat hosts are on board with this idea, and this Telegraph email seems to back it up.
