Westworld – Was MIB’s Throat Always Cut?

I always thought the Man In Black wearing a cravat in the old west always seemed a little strange. When I first saw it I thought that it must have been inspired by Clint Eastwood’s character in Hang ’em High – a movie where the protagonist wears a similar cravat to hide a rope scar on his neck after surviving a lynching attempt.

After the Season 3 finale, I now wonder if the Man In Black we have seen all this time was also hiding a neck scar from the incident at the end of Season 3. Of course, this wouldn’t explain why the host MIB created by Charlores already had a cravat so probably just a coincidence.
