Hi Guys,

Awesome podcast!

Just a comment on the issue of “if anyone who dies can be brought back to life, what are the stakes?”

I believe that the stakes have gone beyond life and death.

As Jonathan and Lisa, and yourselves, say, it’s about whether there is free will, or not. A corollary: If beings could live forever, could they become smarter, could they change, or would they always just follow their code/DNA/whatever they’re hardwired by?

Delos could never escape that point where he turns his back on Logan.

MIB’s conceit is that he cannot be simplified, copied, but can he actually escape his darkest tendencies, at iteration no. X?

Can Dolores grow beyond her code?

Can Bernard, who seems to show evidence of being able to, or at least trying to change, could he grow beyond his code?

If/when AI will supersede humans as the superior beings, would they be better than humans in that regard?

Cheers!
