Why Did the Show End

Hey Guys,

There is one question I can’t find the answer to. I’m surprised more people aren’t asking the same question. Trying to find the answer has almost taken away from my viewing pleasure. Why did the show end when it did? Anyone watching could easily see the last 2 seasons could have had 10 episodes and we still could have done more seasons without it feeling prolonged. A lot of shows are dragged on too long and diminish over time as the network tries to drain every dollar out of the show (the office, that 70″s show, etc.). I feel like almost every problem me and others have had with this season could have been solved with more time as everything was rushed so plot points didn’t hit home and scenes we as the audience needed to see to understand how dany could turn weren’t there. As far as I know, there is no definite answer to why the show ended. These are the most popular reasons I have heard: 1) The show run out of money. It was the most expensive show ever but also the most popular unless hbo was tapped I don’t see it. 2) The actors were done with the show. As with any popular show this one has propelled the acting careers of its main cast. I don’t buy this as it isn’t like these characters were Will Smith after fresh prince they could have killed off a character or two and continued and I”ve never heard any of the actors say it was time to time to end it. 3) The double D”s we”re tired of making the show and dedicating 365 days a year to working on this show. This seems to be the most likely reason but as they rarely ever give interviews or do public appearances it is still unknown. Maybe they got tired of not having the source material they were promised from George. It’s hard for me to imagine them being okay with rushing the ending like it was though. 4) George wanted the show to end. Maybe he was tired of the show being ahead of the books which I guess makes sense although his writer’s block is the reason it happened. Maybe he felt like the book readers wouldn’t be happy if the show ended differently from his books. Maybe he wanted to test out the ending on the show to see how fans reacted?

There have only been clues and Reddit threads to answer my questions why do you guys think Game of Thrones ended when it did?
