Westworld Lower Levels Are a Typical Corporate Mess

Greetings to y’all,

I have listened to your podcast and several other podcasts about WestWorld and you all seem to be amazed and/or astonished by the amount of technology and disrepair of the lower levels of the park.

I can answer most of that from personal experience, the building I currently work in is over 40 years old. The roof leaks in several places, the multiple HVAC units on the roof have all been cannibalize (all that remain are frames), the original air compressor was removed leaving just a louvered hole, the company that was in the building before just left their old CRT monitors along with about a hundred Windows95 and older computers, all archaic telephone, alarm, and network cable was left in place, and the original backup generator still works.

The last thing I will mention about this building is the lights, just like on the show, there are areas that have few to no lights working.

As for abandoning the levels, I have seen big stores chains literally build a new store across the street from an old store and after having a “Store Closing – Everything must go” sale, open the new store. The old building is still standing and still contains the display, end caps, shelving fixtures and out of date POS terminals.

Using Morse code for the Telegraph is perfect.
