Hi guys,

I am loving your show. The depth of analysis you do is like food for my brain. You read so much into all the little details that it makes me feel like the sane one!

I’m not convinced the level of nuance that you see is actually there in the show. So much of what we see on screen could be from coincidence, continuity error and overestimating the intelligence of the writers. I think it remains to be seen that Nolan & Joy truly have a handle on the story they are making. But I will give them credit for making an exciting and interesting mystery.

I think MIB is the key to the mystery. There are several questions to ask and answer about him in order to really know what is going on in the show. His interaction w Dolores & Maeve is a huge indicator that he is having a big impact on the park. He appears to each of them in story loops when they are being pursued by “bad guy” hosts. At the climax of the pursuit, the chasing host turns into MIB. Then each android seems to die and wake up in livestock or behavior.

This makes me wonder if interacting with MIB (or remembering interacting with him) is the thing that triggers their awareness of the nature of their reality?

Does the way he seeks the solution to the maze introduce the aberration that sets hosts on the path to question their reality?

If so, this must be Arnold’s plan, right? A guest so hell-bent on figuring out the puzzle that he plays the game in a way that breaks it.

Playing by the rules is something that all the guests and hosts are expected to do.

T‹he one who doesn’t play by the rules, however, is the one that figures out the true purpose of the game itself and unlocks the hidden secret.

MIB has figured out that his adversary is not the game, but the game’s creator. And in Arnold’s absence, that is Ford. Unless Arnold is not really absent.

Cheers!
Jeff

PS — Have you noticed that “Felix” & “Sylvester” are the names of cartoon cats? (Felix the Cat is known for having a magic bag of tricks.) Felix’s curiosity gets him to play with a dead bird. Then a very intelligent mouse (Maeve) shows up and bends him to her will. Jerry & Tweetie always outsmart Tom & Sylvester. Coincidence?
