Aegon Targaryen and Orys Baratheon

Hey guys, just wanted to point out a quick point that came to my mind after your deep dive:

You mentioned that Jon is Targaryen and Targaryens don’t get along with Baratheons.

However, if you look at where the history of Westeros begins you will see stories of Aegon and his trusted friend – Orys Baratheon.

Orys Baratheon was the founder of House Baratheon, as well as the commander of Aegon the Conqueror’s army, the first-ever Hand of the King (to Aegon), his bastard half-brother, and his closest friend and ally.

This brings a whole new dynamic to Jon and Gendry’s friendship, because while Ned and Robert led a revolution, Aegon and Orys established the world of Westeros as we know it. Maybe it’s possible that while Jon and Gendry’s alliance may somewhat mirror Robert and Ned, it’s actually a callback to the founders of Westeros.

The alliance of Targaryen and Baratheon may not be that bad after all.
