He guys, I enjoy the podcast and love this episode!
Gene, seems to want to ignore the elephant in the room and not be shown how racist can wrap thereselves in the blanket of patriotism & Christianity. I do listen to other podcasts for this TV show and I’ve noticed those same feelings across the board with this episode.
In my opinion, people conducting this podcast and others like it are uncomfortable with the opening scene & overall episode message. They don’t want to believe people can be this cruel killing iileagals and it minorities in the name of Christianity/Patriotism.
As a minority is this country I’ve seen and experienced & heard horrible things. I applaud the creators for not watering down violence of this country. Anyway, still love the podcast and Kudos to Roger for staying aware and not dismissing hard truths.
Hi Jo! As an immigrant, a minority and a Middle Easterner, I’m well aware of the xenophobia and hypocrisy that can be found among Evangelicals, Tea Party activists and the Alt Right. My point wasn’t that this stuff doesn’t exist. Rather, the show was created with too broad a brush. Lumping those different groups into a single, gun-loving, Mexican-hating, Bible-thumping American monolith crosses the line from art to propaganda.
It’s one thing to water down. It’s another thing to surrender to hyperbole.
Thank you for being intellectually honest! I was thinking the exact same thing as you and I’m really impressed you were able to be intellectually honest even though your political views differed. Very impressive in this day and age.

Good catch, Mark. We’ll get Big D. on it.
Thanks, I have fixed the issue.
