Arnold Was AI From The Beginning

Have a Theory? Share It Now!
Alright, here’s what I’ve got. Feel free to Shat all over it, I just hope I get less wipes than Blade Runner.
Arnold was real. I think you have to stretch to make the argument that Ford created Arnold as a host killing a host happens every day. What would that accomplish? If Arnold was AI from the beginning he would’ve been created by Ford who could just create another, faster, smart and better. He had the knowledge and the money (or whatever the Six Million Dollar Man phrase was). If that did happen, why rename him? Why not maintain Arnold?
I think Ford, after Arnold’s death, found a new focus that was the same as the Jim Delos project (JDP). Bringing back an AI that was similar to Arnold, but not a copy of his consciousness was phase one. Ford knew Arnold was his best chance at getting there before his own mortality caught up to him so, we get Bernard. The beginning of this week’s episode with Deloris and Bernard was the same as the William/Delos scene, but on Fords path (Ford and William were working toward the same goal but not together). Deloris had seen a different side of Arnold than Ford so he used her to fine tune the personality. Again, as this was not an attempt to transfer consciousness but an attempt to reconstruct a personality.
Ford may have run into similar issues as William with JD or may have anticipated it. He may have realized a transition period was necessary for success. He was getting close when he felt the changing of the winds and knew it wouldn’t be long till the board took him away from his life’s work, he started implementing plan B, enter the “reveries”.
In this theory, the reveries were a cover for a patch that would allow access from the cradle to individual hosts, like a bluetooth sync. Plan B was to upload Ford’s consciousness to the cradle and continue with the increased capacity of the computing power and interface with many hosts. Note, at the beginning or season one, the reveries were new. This would support the idea that Ford thought the boards decision to remove him was coming and he was running out of time.
Ford had Deloris destroy the cradle only after he had sufficiently uploaded to enough hosts to continue untraceable which would also make him relatively unstoppable.
The “Game” between Ford and William is the race to the common goal on different paths. Ford want’s William to see he succeeded where William failed. That’s why William is attempting to get to “his biggest mistake.” William wants to stop Ford.
I don’t have much for Mave. If you go back and watch the scene where she brought Bernard back online in cold storage, he is reading here programed story. He gets to “you get on the train” and she cuts him off (I may be wrong on the exact quote but it’s the same idea). We are never told what her story says about what she does on the train. It’s possible Mave is still on a program but I really don’t think so. I think she has organically gotten where Arnold was trying to get Deloris.
I’ve got nothing for the rest of the story lines, a person can only do so much. Please keep up the good work. You are the closest thing I get to discussing the show, although I’ve gotten my boss into WW, he’s on S1 E7 as of Wednesday morning so I’ve only been able to say “What door?” to him and have it make scene.
Thanks,
Luke Waltman
