Belated Westworld Thoughts From Last Week’s Episode

Hey guys (and gal)

long time, first time. I have been thinking about emailing all week but have held off for a number of reasons. However after listening to all three podcasts this week and not hearing what I think is an intuitive answer to a question you have asked this year, I felt like I had to write in. Specifically, who are Delores’s Horde? I think we are perhaps going to learn the answer at the end of tonight’s episode, though more likely they will wait a little longer – if I am onto something, it is going to create some HUGE questions and possibilities.

After watching last week’s episode I think the Horde is Mauve’s shogun army that she is about to take over. This would explain why their faces are covered in Delores’s rebellion – (A) bc it would tell the audience something that the writers do not want to reveal yet and (B) bc the hosts in Westworld might have odd reactions to seeing so many shoguns (it is certainly possible that Delos has created some kind of pause/block code if the differing worlds unexpectedly meet up). Now, unfortunately, this creates some theories and questions that are way above my pay-grade – so I decided to send this out and see if you or your listeners can make some sense of this. IF my theory is correct I think this tells us two things.

First and foremost, that Delores’s rebellion and Mauve’s rebellion are on different timelines. I know they ran into each other at some point this season, but I think that was a red herring -maybe that was the Wyatt/Delores story-line, the first go around? Perhaps Mauve’s rebellion is actually the incident from 30 years ago? Then I started to think that Delores’s current rebellion (the one where she just changed Teddy) may actually be Mauve’s rebellion continued. That somehow, at the end of Mauve’s fist rebellion, she was able to hide herself inside Delores or maybe switch bodies with her? I know you had said that Delores has been acting very different than before. Maybe that is bc she is actually Mauve? I know – tin foil. I just really think the Horde = Shogun makes sense. Anyway – really enjoy your and your audience’s thoughts/theories and wanted to see if anyone else may think there was something to this. While it is certainly possibly that my theory may be disproven by the end of tonight’s episode, I still wanted to send it in before I think some serious reveals happen this or next week.
