Bronn “Dragons Are Where Our Partnership Ends”

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hi guys! Me again.

So, given not just ~that~ Dany took King’s Landing but the way she took King’s Landing, I was spending a little time today wondering what I would do about claiming Highgarden were I in Bronn’s boots.

Bronn had told Jaime under no uncertain terms that “… dragons are where our partnership ends.” So will he actually put forth the effort to try to get Highgarden from Tyrion knowing that he would put himself in the position to swear fealty to Daenerys once he has it? Or will he decide, “Enough of this shit? I’m going back across the Narrow Sea and try my hand down there.”

Somehow I don’t see Bronn as a Jean Valjean ‘nobility in the making’ kind of character. He was in noble clothes once, when he was betrothed to Lollys Stokeworth, and he seemed bored by the whole thing.

Y’see, I have a feeling we’ll be seeing some individual combat between Bronn and Gray Worm in episode 6.

I can see Bronn showing up to talk to Tyrion about the Highgarden, and by some plot device (maybe agreeing to be Tyrion’s bodyguard again, or maybe just by being with Tyrion when it happens) ending up in combat with Gray Worm who is on a mission to assassinate Tyrion (I’m guessing on Dany’s order, but it could be personal for pulling rank with the Unsullied guards to set Jamie free).

And that same feeling tells me that Bronn will come out on top. Gray Worm fights with training and honor. Bronn fights dirty and to win. Remember Lysa Arryn? “YOU DON’T FIGHT WITH HONOR!” “No … he did.”

We’ll see. For one more week, we can say that … “We’ll see.”

Thanks for the work you put in every week. It’s appreciated more than you know.
