Just a quick theory on Caleb after talking about the episode with some friends. What if Caleb was one of the outliers? We see these flashes of some violent acts by him that keep us questioning his character. We also see Liam visibly frightened of him in the beginning of the episode when looking at his profile and then at the end he tells Caleb that he is “the worst of us”. What if Caleb was a cold-blooded killer who was sent to Serac’s facility to be rehabilitated? And what if the rehab actually worked? Think about it. What if his refusal to do personals is a reflection of them toning down his violent ways? What if his mother says he is not her son, not because of HER mental health, but because HE has changed into a different person? What if the reason he is assigned such an average-joe lifestyle is because rehoboam knows that any divergence could send him back to the outlier he once was? Just something to think about. Maybe I’m going down some Big D tin foil rabbit hole, but why not? This is westworld after all. Anything can happen.
