Cersi’s Death, Dark, Horrified…Perfect For Her.

Gents,

Dr. J here. I wanted to comment on Cersi’s death this week. I’ve seen a lot of comments about how unsatisfying it was, and how people wanted her to have a more horrific death.

Personally, I found her death to be perfect. That moment of being trapped in the bowels of the Red Keep with no way of escape when she just broke down realizing that this was her end and she had no power to prevent it…that was priceless. She was so horrified at that notion, and she deserved it.

And then you think about the collapse of the building, she might not have died right away. Imagine being trapped under millions of pounds of rubble, wounded horribly, your brother and the love of your life is dead and holding you with his lifeless body, you can barely breathe, cannot move, and worst of all for her…she had no audience. Dying alone, in the dark, horrified…perfect for her.

I know people wanted her to die spectacularly, but this was the death she earned. I liked it.

Thanks for all that you do!

We received dozens of Small Council letters about Cersei’s death not fitting her character, but I agree with you: not being special was the worst death Cersei could die. She died afraid, buried under the floor of the throne from which she ruled.
