Charlotte and Caleb

Heya gang,

Long time listener, first-time emailer. A couple of quick thoughts on the newest episode:

– This episode seems to clear up the mysteries in the board meeting in the first episode: the mysterious private investor is Delores, the AI was probably representing Wiliam and Seroc is now stopping the company from being bought by Delores.

– I would agree that it is likely Charlotte’s personality was combined with whoever (Teddy would be the obvious choice – Delores saying don’t hurt yourself again and Teddy shot himself) that is inside the Charlotte body. The way I interpreted it was that for Charlotte they only had limited data on her inside the park to simulate her personality so that not only the new Charlotte is missing factual information (that Charlotte split up with her husband and is working for Seroc) but that she didn’t understand Charlotte’s core drive – that she is both a predator and a loving mother. The fact that this incomplete personality profile being unable to fully integrate with whoever inside was the cause of the internal conflict. The episode was the journey that she had to take to understand Charlotte in order to be her. Or, if it is indeed Teddy, for him to merge himself with her personality once he could identify with her drives – being a predator in order to protect those that you love.

– As Big D could probably attest to (and I experienced myself in the past), the military is, a lot of times, a hotbed of new tech/meds testing without much in the way of informed consent (sign here, take this pill). You have a population that is tightly controlled and monitored that is also conditioned and trained to obey orders without question (at least at the enlisted level). It would not surprise me if the military-grade implant inside Caleb was part the beta testing grounds for Salomon/Rehoboam – therefore “higher grade” and more invasive. Also the implant is reminiscent of the Black Mirror – Man Against Fire episode. Crazy theory – Caleb might have been the one that actually shot his friend because somehow the implants made him not see that it was his friend?
