Season 2 Vision Foretells Daenerys’ Death

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Loooove your Westworld podcast, I’m glad you guys are doing Game of Thrones, although I’m a little concerned Gene is going to rip Ed Sheehan and the lazy dialogue writing to shreds in this first episode.

I had a couple observations I wanted to share- First off, the giant in the scene right after the initial credits had one eye. The only giant we know who doesn’t have an eye is the one who died during the battle of the bastards waaayyy south of the wall. This was set up as a vision of Bran’s, it has to be the future, so that means the white walkers are going to make it past the wall at some point.

And secondly, I have a true tinfoil theory….

Wait for it …

Jon Snow is looking for dragon glass, and Sam just sent him a raven telling him a huge stash of it is under dragon stone where Dani just landed. Obviously they’ll somehow meet each other through this twist of fate. Jon Snow very likely will try to recruit Dani and her armies to fight the real battle in the North. Keep this is mind while I side track for a second.

When Dani had her dragons stolen in season 2, she entered the tower of the undying and had “vision”. At the time it all seemed really cryptic, but I went back and watched it after 7:1. Dani wanders into the throne room, the building is in ruins and it is clearly winter. She walks up to an empty throne, and as she hovers her hand over the chair as if she is about to take a seat at the throne, she hears a dragon screaming out from afar. She turns away from the throne and is immediately walking out of the gate to the North side of the wall. There, after walking out a little bit she walks into a tent and meets her dead husband and child. She says it isn’t time for them to be together, walks out of the tent and is back in the tower of the undying.

This visions seemed cryptic back then, but let’s look at it now. Winter is here for Westeros, so the first part is covered. Dani is rolling back to Westeros with a huge army and dragons, while Cersei is weakened with few allies (maybe Jaime or Tyrion will even kill her as the prophesy says). So the Throne is there, just waiting for Dani to take it. Check on the second part when she’s about to sit on the iron throne.

The next part of the vision is Dani turning away from the Throne as she hears a Dragon crying. Jon Snow is a Targaryen with Dragon blood, and is about to call to her for aid at the wall. Check on that part of the vision, a dragon is calling her from afar.

If we follow the next steps, Dani will pass on taking the Throne and go toward the Dragon’s calls which will lead her to the North, past the wall, where she will eventually meet her loved ones, and if she’s meeting dead loved ones, she is probably dead. So if that whole vision sequence was written accurately to portray the future, which everything has so far in this beautiful piece of art, Dani will go North to fight white walkers instead of taking the Throne of Westeros and die there.

I’m really looking forward to a whole season of podcast from you guys, I couldn’t be any more stoked you’re doing this. Can’t wait for the mailbag or whatever we’re calling it, the crazier the better. I’m pretty sure that the combined efforts of you guys and the audience of your Westworld podcast wrote a better ending or two than actually played out, but I loved it regardless. Keep up the great work!

    Hey, Nick!

Pretty interesting theory, going back all the way to the vision! Nice work!

I particularly didn’t think Dany would find her demise in the North. I was more inclined to believe one of her dragons would. But now, after reading this, it would be interesting if Dany died and Jon assumed control of her dragons, somehow (the bad thing about this woud be that Ghost has to die, and I don’t want any more direwolves to die haha).

    Cheers!
