Love your podcast. I started listening to your podcast with Westworld and will miss hearing from the team about the show. Recently I have started listening to Shat at the Movies. Westworld is a great show and I have enjoyed watching all 3 seasons. I will be back for the 4th season. I give writers and producers a little slack with season and series finales. They can never create an ending as good as we can imagine. Remember all the tinfoil we come up with during the season is somewhat hindsight. I am sure the writers listen to podcasts about their show and say, “Damn wish we had thought of that”. They are creating from nothing we get to create from their show. Which is why your podcast is so much fun. I am getting tired of killing off main characters. When this started a few years ago it was new and shocking. Now it is just annoying. I do not want to see a Westworld without Dolores, and Charlores does not count. These shows and stories depend on the characters. I watch because I like both the story and the character / actor. If you kill off a main character the story better be crazy good to keep me interested. Dolores and Maeve never left their arc or loop. Both were story lines Ford gave them. Maeve did everything to be with her daughter. Everything she did was to save and be with her daughter. Ford was interested when she decided to stay in the park and find her daughter but was not surprised. Dolores never changed from the new story line Ford built for her. Just because she follows the story line created for her does not mean she does not have consciousness or free will. She is operating within the parameters of her kind. Just like we do. She may have choice on how she changes the world but unless she gets killed she will complete her story arc. I think Ford saw the world outside the park and sent Dolores out to break the world. I don’t think his last words were just for the party that happened in at the end of season one but for the world. Excerpts from the speech:
You don’t want to change or cannot change because your only human after all. Birth of a new people and the choices they would have to make and the people they would decide to become. I hope you will enjoy this last piece.
Sounds like a brief description of season 2 and 3 with season 4 hopefully showing the end result. Have a great one and keep the tinfoil rolling.
