Dr. Ford &Amp; Mr. Arnold

Hello gentlemen,

First of all – great podcast. It really enriches my WestWorld visitor experience.

I’d like to talk about the supposed inconsistency of Dr. Ford’s portrayal in the show:

Throughout the show, we are taught that Ford is the park’s “god” – he’s omnipresent and omnipotent, nothing seems to surprise him and he knows everything.

So it is very strange for me that we are supposed to believe he is unaware of Dolores and Maeve’s individual journeys towards emancipation/the maze/consciousness. Also, I find it hard to believe he programmed the “reveries” glitch by accident. And on top of that, he seems utterly relaxed and doesn’t worry about these incidents.

This leads me to believe there are 2 options:
1. Ford is not only aware, but actually behind all this for some reason, and he wants the hosts to reach a certain point – either as part of his future plan to fight Delos, or to find/free “Arnold” or for another reason I haven’t thought of.

2. Ford is a host designed by “Arnold”, and he’s programmed to not see maze-related things (“doesn’t look like anything to me”). Maybe he was even made to program the reveries, as we know they somehow relate to an “old friend’s trick” = “Arnold”.

I personally find the 1st option more believable.

Please let me know what you think!

Sincerely,

Tom M. from Tel Aviv, Israel.
