Episode 4

So, I thought I had some original ideas after the episode and wrote a lot of them down. Then I listened to the insta-cast and a third of my thoughts got covered. In the deep dive, you addressed nearly everything else. And I’m emotionally torn about this, but I think I have to be on Big D’s side about Dany spiraling into the worse version of herself. Anyway, here are my additional thoughts to some stuff you briefly covered already.

Which dead are being burned at Winterfell? Are they burning the bodies of ALL the dead? Or is this the dead who remained human in death (casualties from after John’s Hail Mary run at the Night King)? I think this must be the still-human dead. The biers certainly didn’t include undead Viserion and the giant! I bring this up as a numbers game: this is a lot of dead bodies to accumulate in the second wave of the undead’s attack and still have a reasonably sized army left over!

I’m glad you brought up the physics of the scorpions in the instacast. I don’t think the wooden decks of those ships are built to handle the recoil of a shot of that force. Or maybe I don’t understand the application of Newton’s laws to these war machines. Discuss.

Love what you’re doing. I don’t think it will help you feel better, but I definitely share some of these late nights with you. I just can’t stop thinking about GoT!
