First of all, great job on the podcast. I’m loving hearing the discussions as much as watching the show!

I have a far-fetched theory for you to poke some holes in regarding the woodcutter’s madness. We know that the wood carving is part of his habit programming to keep him on plot, but the constellation carving on the back is not. Every night he makes a new carving and ‘signs’ it with a constellation (which is a very human thing to do, contemplating the stars and all).

As he accumulates more and more carvings, he realizes that every single night he carves the same constellation. Constellations move in the night sky and Orion is only visible ~3/4 of the year. Maybe something in the reveries triggered some knowledge of the stars/constellations which in turn sparked some deep contemplation, or maybe I’m looking wayyyyy to deep into things, but isn’t that part of the fun?

The biggest issue I have with this theory is Elise telling Stubs that the woodcutter had no programming about the stars. Maybe she’s mistaken and some earlier programming had him navigate by the stars (so reveries kicking in brought it to the surface) or a guest talked to him about it?

Keep up the good work and looking forward to tonight’s episode! – Ben
