Flaw In Westworld Timelines
Love your podcast. Seems like the writers got confused by the timelines as much as we did. Let me explain:
Hale kills Elsie.
Bernard sees it, freaks out, and creates a Hale replica with Dolores’s brain ball. Bernard goes to the beach and says he has to de-address his memories so they won’t be able to find out what he’s done. He lies down by the water and this is where he is found by Strand & co. in the present timeline. However, Bernard’s memories are already de-addressed when he is with Elsie in bunker 12 after he finds her chained in the cave. She explicitly says as much when she scans him after giving him more brain fluid. Oops!

This may be true. However, when we are seeing the scenes of Bernard and Elsie in the cave, it is unclear if it is actually happening in real time, or if it is happening in Bernard’s memory. Bernard says something along the lines of, “I’m not actually here with you, am I?” Are we seeing this through Bernard’s memory, after he has been scrambled, when Hale is interrogating him?
