For Your Small Council Consideration: Zombie Clegane Bowl?

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hey guys!

Recently discovered your podcast and love your Small Council episodes. Here’s a theory to consider:

It goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway, that this Magnificent Seven expedition beyond the wall isn’t a great plan. Much as I’d hate to see any of our rag-tag team perish, it goes far beyond belief (and way outside of GOT norms) to think that all of them will return unscathed and, you know, still breathing.

So, given that some of this group are bound to die, and given that the whole point of this venture is to nab an un-dead solider to present to Cersei as proof of the imminent threat of White Walkers … what if the un-dead specimen happens to be not some random wight plucked from the masses, but rather someone from the motley crew, itself? We’ve seen the Night King raise recently-killed friends from the dead at Hardhome. It seems inevitable it would happen again.

So, that case, who among the group is most likely to become the wight of choice? My bet would be on the Hound. I think this fits because A) It would explain why, seemingly all-of-a-sudden, the Hound was able to see the future in the flames. Might he have been seeing glimpses of his own fate? (He also mentioned a “mountain” in his vision … more on this in a second).

But even more convincing is B) Cersei would be far more likely to be convinced (though I’m still not sure Cersei could ever be convinced of such a thing, even with evidence staring her in the face) if the un-dead individual wasn’t random, but someone she actually knows.

And of course, the biggest reason I hope this theory proves true is because we would finally get Clegane Bowl … the Mountain vs. the Hound, but a zombie-fied version. And come on, you know we all want to see that.

Thanks!
