Ford Still In Control And Other Ramblings….

Loving the podcasts this season, great work, keep it up

Ok so it seems the common thread in this episode is Ford. He has used Ghost Nation to protect human guests, I think he programmed this quite a bit before his death. He had Bernard get the control red thing from the Delos secret lab which obviously Ford knew about, he also has Bernard kill all the tech people there and have the Hosts self destruct. Ford so was shown to have had Bernard save Elsie. On top of that he is directing William through a re-loop of previous visits. This time William is not the one threatening Lawrence’s family, he has to watch it happening and see the impact. Along with William’s realisation that Lawrence is most probably on the path to self awareness this spurs him on to save them all.

Ford is still pulling the strings from beyond the grave. I’ve a slightly madcap theory as to what is going on, at least with Ford and William.

William is playing a game, a game we know is designed by Ford. The last game was the Maze. This was the process that allowed host self awareness. William’s game is to become truly human and show the traits that define Ford’s notion of human nobility. William’s prize should he win is a true consciousness transfer to a younger host version of himself. Ford clearly knew what Delos were attempting and Ford was clearly light years ahead of the curve in this field (or AI Arnold was if you subscribe to that theory). William was happiest when he first encountered Dolores and so was Dolores for that matter. Years after the event and multiple wipes she still remembered her time with William. I think the show will drive towards their eventual reunion but William has to earn this reward that he doesn’t yet realise he is going to want.

One more less madcappy thought…..

Any season with that features Bernard is a flashback. Strand and co and basically running Bernard through his memories.
