Couldn’t the End scene in the real world at Ford’s home have been equally obtained just by Ford grabbing a couple marbles in his pocket; going home to his personalized host builder and making Dolores, Bernard, etc. He seems to have free will in the park to go and do whatever he wants. I’m sure he is smart enough to sneak out those marbles without getting caught, and thus wouldn’t have had to die and start all this madness.
