Host Vulnerability
I was disappointed to hear on the instant take that you didn’t like this week’s episode. While there were no shocking reveals and a lot of exposition, I liked the episode’s introduction of a human virus that somehow infects the hosts. But rather than a virus (of course the hosts would think in such terms), I think the outliers expose a vulnerability in the hosts’ code. For instance, when William encountered the outlier, just like Hope, he hesitated before attempting to shoot her and interacted with her. Then, when he was talking to the human William, I couldn’t help but view him as a vulnerable child. He was scared that he had been infected with a virus when really he was just starting to question the nature of his reality. Oh, the irony! Is this the vulnerability that must be exploited to ultimately defeat Haleores? Anyway, like many others, I am so happy you guys are doing the podcast again. It is part of the whole Westword experience for me, and it wouldn’t be the same without you guys.
