Game Of Thrones – Choke Point

I have a problem with the idea that you need to create a choke point to fight the dead. While I definitely agree that choke points would help fighting humans like Leonidas did in 300, I don’t think it would do a damn thing against the dead. After Jon watches the dead at Hardhome or after learning what the dead did to the wall, Jon probably thinks a choke point would be a waste of time, or that it would need to be so big and so vast that there is no way they have enough time to create a choke point for the dead. In fact, they would likely need multiple huge choke points surrounding the castle. If the choke point is only on one side, the dead would just go around it.
