Winterfell

First time listener- great podcast! Wish I had found you guys earlier!

Just a few thoughts I had after listening to your breakdown of the Winterfell episode.

It’s clear to everyone that Dany is not going to react well to Jon’s true parentage and the threat to her position as queen- it is effectively shattering her entire personal branding as the last of the dragons plus she has a pretty fierce ambition to be queen.

After Yara’s hint about providing a safe haven for Dany away from the White Walkers, I wondered if the revelation would cause Dany to desert Winterfell for the Iron Islands, or even possibly King’s Landing. Would she pull away her forces and abandoning the Northerners to certain defeat thereby creating a crisis for Jon to follow his Queen or stand by his people?

My other thought about this was to consider the loyalty of Rhaegal now that Jon Snow is his dragon rider. If Dany does decide to abandon Winterfell, would Rhaegal follow his mother or stick with Jon as the true Targaryean king? Although I have read some of the books, I’m not fully aware of the lore surrounding dragons.
