Hey Gene and BigD!

I want to start out and say thank you for the podcast, It’s really noticeable all of the work and time you guys put into this and I can’t express enough how much I appreciate that! So thank you, and I would like to finally contribute…

I’m sure a common question everyone is asking after this finale is why didn’t Jon make any attempt to stay in Kings Landing or the newly independent north and rule as Lord/King Aegon? I mean after all, grey worm and anyone who would have opposed Jon’s immediate pardon ended up leaving pretty soon after Bran was named King. After I watched a second time it was very clear… The scene of Jon and Tyrion in Tyrion’s “cell” pre-assassination is critical because when have we ever seen Jon just start crying before? Tyrion mistakenly takes Jon’s pouring of emotion as Jon being in-love with Dany, but if you look close enough Jon kind of brushes that off because I think he’s actually crying about Ygritte, the only woman Jon has actually been in-love with! Tyrion triggered this emotion by reminding him of when Jon believed it was his duty to remain loyal to his oath of the Night’s Watch, which inevitably killed her and many others. “Sometimes duty is the death of love.” Jon is escaping all of the politics he has time and time again said he hated and wanted 0-part of to go where he truly felt free and where he actually fell in love.

I called bulls**t on him being in-love with Dany, yes maybe he loved her as being technically blood family, but never how he felt for Ygritte. I’m sure Bran saw that love connection Jon once had in a vision or something and figured he was doing Jon a service putting him back in the black. Something to think about!

Again, love the podcast you guys did a great job this season!
