Gentlemen:

There seems to be something in our hard-wiring that pushes us to make sense out of sensory input. We need meaning. Lee Harvey Oswald could not have acted alone in killing JFK. Twin Peaks, Westworld, and now GOT all make sense. I still remember a graduate lit course and the reaction of the professor when I pointed out that William Faulkner admitted that often he didn’t understand what he had written the night before while drinking. Freud said that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. I had a good time listening to many podcasts about The Long Night. I judged it to be a a big pile of steaming schlock. Many people liked it. Fascinating. I get the biggest kick out of Ashley Schafly who could expound upon a cigar for an hour. Would love to hear a podcast with Ashley and Kerrie who seems to be carrying Occam’s Razor in her back pocket at all times.

PS I really believe that if you put David Lynch on a truth serum and asked about various scenes and plot twists, he’d reply, “Beats the shit out of me.”
