Hi Guys,

Followed you for Westworld. Love the Game of Thrones podcast definitely adds to my enjoyment of the show. Overall I really enjoyed the last episode it had me riveted from start to finish.

Divided my comments below into good, bad, and questions. A lot of my bad comments are more quibbles, but thought they may spur some discussion.

Thanks again guys,

Dave from Tampa

good

* Acting without dialogue was superb, i.e. Sansa and Tyrion just one example, but felt like I could really feel the actors sense of fear and dread before and during the battle. Thought the acting was top notch. * Really like how they showed a more humble Mellisandre. You could see in her eyes how she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to light the trench, and her death at the end of the episode was well done * Tension leading up to the battle with the silence and pauses * Aerial shots of the battle with Jon and Dani looking from above at the beginning * I like how they didn’t show what happened to the Dothraki in the battle * Overall I enjoyed the wight hoard attacks and defense of Winterfell scenes

bad

* major characters being saved all the time, feel like each of our heroes will now get a special death send off, like Theon and Jorah, so it makes the show more predictable * felt like we needed one more major death to make the battle more believable * Felt like some of the too much fog of war criticism has some validity, some of the dragon flying blizzard scenes I couldn’t tell what was going on * wish Jon Snow died trying to kill the Night King, it looked like while stalking him on foot if Jon was willing to die and go all out he could have tried to kill the Night King and would have at least gotten a chance, instead he backs off at the last second, all the dead fully rise and it is too late. * The whole sequence of Jon playing peek a boo with the dragon at the end of the episode, it was cool but also not realistic. Dragon would have kicked anyone else’s ass. * I liked that Arya killed the Night King, but thought the dagger drop was gimmicky, and Arya screams while jumping towards the Night King giving him the chance to turn around. I would have preferred Arya just stabbing him in the back silently like the professional she is, instead of giving herself away. * Sending the Dothraki to certain death at the beginning of the battle. Why send them forward into an enemy you can’t see?

questions

* Did Dany and Jon almost fly into each other while riding their dragons towards the beginning of the episode in the middle of the storm or was that the dead dragon trying to take one of them out? * Did we see the Night King control the weather in any other episode? I wouldn’t have known he could control the weather unless Big D mentioned it on a previous podcast * is Tormund alive?
