Got: Jon’s Military Leadership
Does anyone actually think Jon is a military tactician? He’s a hero, a warrior, a just man, but not always the best leader of people, and has never shown himself to be a military genius. Tywin, Ramsey… they may have been the state of the art in Westeros. Tyrion’s record is now mixed. Jamie possibly has skill in that domain. But Jon’s only knowledge asset is his familiarity with the enemy, but not enough to know how the Night King thinks (or thought). So the military analysis, while interesting, only highlights Jon’s flaws.

I totally agree. The show runners never have tried to make Jon the best at anything. He’s a competent swordsman but can’t beat Jaime in his prime, Arya, or Brienne. He’s a decent leader but doesn’t have the cunning of Tyrion, Varys, or Sansa. Jon is the heart of the show, not the brains or the muscle.
