Got S8e3 Small Council

Hello!

First and foremost, I LOVE you guys and your podcasts =)

I also LOVE this show and this episode!! I too suffered the consequences of having a regular flat screen with the typical network speeds, and found it hard to make out what I was watching at some points. I realized right away that this was my tv and not the production quality, so I place no fault on the show as I have heard others have, and honestly, it added to my sense of dread and anxiousness, which made the chaos authentic. My only disappointment is that it feels a bit anti-climatic that the Night King story line is done. We were introduced to them in the first sequence of the first show, this ever looming threat in the background (for over 8 seasons) that no one believed was coming. All the little tidbits we’ve been given, the difference between White Walkers and wights, that animals can also be wights, how the Night King was created, the “art” they would leave behind, the “pact” that they had with Craster, that dragon glass and valerian steel can be used against them, the weir wood net, the connection between the Children of the Forest, The Three-Eyed Raven, and the Night King….all lead up to….Arya killing him, and all Bran did was sit there. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with Arya being the one to dispatch of the Night King…I totally didn’t expect it, and the moment blew me away!! And really, all Bran CAN do is sit there…haha! I just felt like maybe this should have been an episode or two down the line…I know there’s only 3 episodes left now, and there isn’t a whole lot of time, but I just feel like maybe this fight should have progressed a bit further south, that the people of Westeros see that this threat was real, …I don’t know, it just feels like this was a check off their list of things to do, and now we’re on to Cersei. I love Cersei too by the way =) Like I said, I LOVE this show, and this episode in particular, I’m looking forward to the wars to come, but to me it was just a bit anti-climatic. I listened to your Deep Dive, as I always do, and I hope that you’re right Big D, I hope that Bran will fill in the blanks for us or something in upcoming episodes, just to fill out the backstory a bit, I mean, what else is he going to do for 3 more episodes…hahaha!
