Got Season 8 Opener Review
I first came across the Shat crew with the Westworld pod back in 2016 and, so, I just wanted to first extend my deep thanks for the hours of entertainment you have provided. So thanks! You guys are deeply appreciated.
Regarding your thoughts about Winterfell, the season opener of GoT, I just wanted to give a different perspective on the Jon riding Rhaegal scene. I know you guys found it corny but I really see it more as a necessary middle step. Last season Jon started bonding with Drogon (and Rhaegal, I assume, offscreen), so now we get the obligatory messy first time of Jon riding a dragon, in order to have as a final act Jon controlling him like a badass on the battlefield. Having him skip that second step would have been a mistake. Also, I wanna give Kit a lot of credit for keeping it straight while he filmed that scene cause apparently his right testicle got pinched in the process. Ouch!
Anyway, I really don’t mind the magic carpet feeling of the whole thing. It allowed the writers to get some light-heartedness and romance in before everything turns to shit. Not only for the North but for them as a couple. ‘Nothing lasts’, like Varys said. At least ‘boat sex’ is not the only on screen evidence of their relationship.
Sincerely, Armando from Puerto Rico
