Got: Was The Night King Necessary?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the awesome podcasts. I used to watch GOT with my college buddies, but since moving away it’s been a lonelier ride. Your podcast has been the perfect medicine when I really want to dig deeper and reflect on the show. Great job, keep it up.

I want to talk about the Night King. They have been prepping to fight forever. But we don’t get any real motivation as to why they want to march south and destroy humans. It’s not for Bran. Because they were marching south even when the other three eyed raven was in the cave north of the wall. So why now and for what reason? If this was a regular movie, some might say he is a bad villain because he is just evil for evil’s sake. He wants to destroy for no really reason.

All in all it was a good episode. We should’ve seen at least 2 major deaths like the Red Wedding but it didn’t happen. Yes, lots of supporting characters. But we should had lost a Stark or Lannister at the least. If the book was written already, it would have been a GRRM move.

Not to mention, the greatest battle and war of all time was only like 8 hours? I’m surprised it wasn’t weeks.

Thanks guys for the great episodes! Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say about it!
