Observations About Season 8

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Shat-on hosts,

I really hope one of these days you read at least one of my emails on-air. I poured a few out during season 2 of Westworld, then a few more during this season of Game of Thrones. I know what I’m talking about more than most do, but for some reason, you always seem to skip my letters and I’m starting to feel like it’s the same people week after week who get air-time. C’mon.

Anyway, here are some observations and theories about episode 5 and 6:

I believe that Bran may have been Warging Drogon during the majority of the immolation of King’s Landing. Did you notice that we rarely saw Dany’s reactions or her point of view? I’m no Daenerys apologist, but that may be an awfully good 3rd twist if you ask me.

Euron went out like a champ. If you read Pilou Asbeak’s interviews, he basically defied the showrunners Dan and Dave’s instructions to simply die…no, he had to go out with a smile, eyes open, exclaiming that he killed Jaime. Epic.

Everyone keeps complaining that Drogon suddenly “leveled up” this episode. What people don’t understand is that dragons are not as powerful, just as magic is not as powerful, in certain places. Winterfell happens to be a location that is guarded heavily by magic.

ANOTHER place that is magically guarded is Storm’s End. This may play a pivotal role in the finale. Drogon may not be able to breach Storm’s end…just as Melisandre’s shadow baby couldn’t cross the barrier either (unless she was smuggled in by Davos). Storm’s End may be the best place to make a last stand against Daenerys, given that she knows nothing about it and most likely doesn’t realize it is magically guarded.

Well, that’s it for this email. Hopefully, you will at least read on-air something I wrote. Be well.
