There is something that jumped out at me that I haven’t heard anyone address just yet: the camera shot of the newspaper with the headline about the Franklin Scandal.

The TV woman (Elisa?) also references the Franklin Scandal when she’s introducing Wayne to the idea of online communities that discuss and investigate crimes.

The Franklin Scandal is an entirely different rabbit hole all by itself, but I do think it might well be a clue. It involves a missing boy, the Satanic Panic, ritualised torture, and men in power doing Very Bad Things. As my husband is very tired of me saying all the time, “it always all comes down to a child sex ring”.
