Huge Fan- I Hate To Poke Holes But..

I love you guys. Been listening since last season and I am huge fan.. love the podcast and Westworld.. down to business.

I want to dig a little deeper into your theories and tell you why at first I did agree with one but have to object. First off, I clearly recall that in Season 1- Man in black/William says to one of the hosts at some point. “have you ever heard of someone named Arnold?” That would align with you idea that Arnold is AI and that William neither (young and old) had ever met Arnold. I originally liked the theory that he was AI until Ford gave him the body of “Bernard” but if that is the case the why the big reveal that Bernard is a host. Also, if Arnold wasn’t really a person, then who is showing Deloris around in China including showing her his home. Do you think that was all in her head? And if so why?

As to your theory that Ford was remade into a host after the “incident” this really doesn’t hold water for me and here is why. If the whole idea was to set the hosts free and not subject them to the pain and suffering of Westworld, then why not let it all die with Ford? Why remake Ford if Arnold didn’t want the hosts suffer in the first place. Just some ideas I’ve been kicking around. Keep up the good work. Sometimes you give her audience way too much credit and at the end of the day we are just a bunch of idiots! Have a great day,

I don’t believe Arnold ever showed Dolores his home in mainland China, at least not in the “two people strolling down the street” sense. It either was a virtual construct or Arnold was inside Dolores’ head. This wouldn’t be the first time Dolores thought she was talking to Arnold, only to be talking to herself.
