Hi guys great podcast!! seriously you guys are one of the best when it comes to reliving what we just saw. I have a serious rant but it’s not directed towards you it’s more directed to the #GameofThrones podcast/tv critic community.

CHARACTER MOMENTS!!! ( keep in mind whenever I write CHARACTER MOMENTS!! I am doing it in a mocking rich frat boy voice) It started with the popularity of Marvel Super Hero movies and critics would focus on character moments to make their review more sophisticated when the strength of the movies were bringing action to the big screen. I think this default is now in the Game of Thrones universe.

We just had the greatest battle scene of any show or movie than at any time ( I seriously believe the more time we move away from it the greater it will be because of the irrational default to discount action as mindless tv) On this show we had 2 great non character moments scenes that were infinitely more riveting than seeing the Character Moments……..Were you not breathing when Tyrion and Vasirous were talking? Were you not riveted seeing Tyrion try to navigate a ship being shot to pieces. This was great HIGH DRAMA and deserves more airtime. Character Moments of Tryion and Vasirous was great but “not breathing great” Can we please give the story arc of Daenerys going through a similar character transformation as Saul Goodman going from innocent diabolical to full diabolical some credit. We started the series with stories of the Mad King burning everyone but being killed by a desenter and we are ending the series with a mad king that wants to burn everyone up with a desenter plotting to stop her. Can we stop trying to be so sophisticated and stop highlighting the Character Moments which are 1/3 of the greatness of the show. and focus on the of 2/3 which are ACTION SCENES and PLOT DEVELOPMENT.

My last rant ( not related to you) is the consensus that Jon Snow is dense. I think that’s the intellectually lazy way to summarize his personality. I think Jon Snow chooses to be single minded because it works for him. Everywhere Jon goes he becomes the most successful person in that group. It doesn’t matter if you ban him to lifetime service beyond civilization, or send a million dead people to kill him. Jon has the ability of foresight to bring the necessary assets to accomplish his goals. While everyone else is having CHARACTER MOMENTS Jon is having King Moments. He effectively caused the greatest and hottest bachelorette to fall in love with him and became King over her forces!!.Is there anyone in the seven kingdoms more successful than Jon. His ability to be single minded as outfoxed all of the layered CHARACTER MOMENTS characters combined.
