Identity Of The Mystery Brain Ball

Hi, Guys!

Love the show and I had a thought that you might be interested in. I tried to leave a voicemail but got cut off (I was probably a little too long winded).

Here we go. I have seen a lot of speculation about the potential identity of the brain ball/milk dud that Ford had Bernard create and smuggle out in his flashback. Maybe it’s Ford, William, Juliet, etc. I rewatched the episode last night and it hit me like a ton of bricks. During the “previously on” segment, they very deliberately showed us a clip from last season of the Man in Black detailing Juliet’s suicide to Teddy by the campfire. He explains that she took the wrong pills and that his daughter told him that it was no accident. This implies that it was an OD that killed her and that he wasn’t present since the events were laid out for him by Emily.

Later in the episode, when William is having his redemptive moment in Las Mudas, we see flashbacks of what we are led to assume is the night his wife killed herself. We are shown flashes of a bloody tub and a pair of men’s nice black shoes running frantically up the stairs. This implies a suicide by wrist cutting, not pills, and that William was actually present during and/or soon after the event took place. This is very different than what we were originally told.

Now, Emily/Grace happens to show up at the park on the very day (maybe the day before) that the Dolores/Wyatt narrative kicks off. Then she very ham-fistedly subjects Nicholas to a point blank test to prove that he’s not a host but he is never afforded an opportunity to return the favor. Furthermore, he says “Do you really think they’d go through all the trouble to dress one of them up as one of us?” to which she responds by looking ominously into the mirror and saying, “Oh, I wouldn’t put it past them…”

This episode, we see her talking to Stubbs while being held captive and he tells her “They aren’t killing humans, only hosts.” to which she replies, “I’m not sticking around to test out that theory.” and bails. Wonder why this comment from Stubbs puts her into immediate flight mode. She also states that she has no intention of getting out of here (perhaps she knows she only has a 7-35 day life span?). I think it is being heavily implied that something is not quite right with her and this is capped off with William’s look of confusion and concern when she “randomly” stumbles across him in a 500 square mile park to say “Hi, dad.”

TL;DR, I don’t think it’s Juliet’s suicide we are being shown. I think it is Emily’s and Ford has whipped her back up to fuck with our Man in Black. I mean, why introduce her at all if she doesn’t add something important to the story?

Thanks for all you do and I hope this hypothesis is worthy of your airwaves!
