Kohana and Maeve
I thought Kiksuya was the first complete story the show runners have created in an episode. My wife, who has not found the show involving, sat rapt with me last night. I watched the episode twice.
It’s clear to me that Akecheta was talking to Maeve, through her daughter, the entire episode. Her daughter was simply the connection point. When Maeve said “take my heart when you go”, she was talked by about her daughter.
For all true parents their child or children is where all their hopes and dreams reside. Her daughter is her heart. My wife and I reacted viscerally, as parents, to Maeve’s handing her daughter over to Ake for safe keeping, because she doesn’t expect to survive
My 2 cents
